Today’s
lesson went okay at best. It was very difficult to get started as I didn’t know
where the students ability level was at and therefore felt very unorganized
with the lesson. However, now that I know where they are at a little bit better
I can go into tomorrow with a better plan of action. I will say though it was
fun to work with the students in more a small group setting as I am starting to
get to know each of the students more personally and can pick up on their
strengths and weaknesses.
One
thing that I’m still trying to figure out is how to assess the students. It’s
like I know exactly who needs more help but how do I show that on paper with
evidence to back it up. It just seems like tedious work for something that I
can just make a mental note for. I need to figure out an assessment strategy
that is quick and easy to use. I will continue to think about this throughout
the week.
I
look forward to tomorrow as we will be reading The Napping House while continuing to work on various language arts
strategies.
