In reading today, we continued to focus on the main parts in a trickster tale and also worked on predicting. Students loved predicting what they are going to get for Christmas. We then read a trickster tale and predicted and figured out why it is a trickster tale. And then we continued practicing all of this while watching Tom and Jerry :) they LOVE watching this in class, and it actually is very applicable. But I am really struggling with time. I got through the whole lesson but by the end,
they barely had any time to meet in book groups. I think tomorrow I might do book groups first because I really want them to have enough time for this! They are really getting into the lesson though which makes it really fun.
My biggest struggle right now is that they are sooo chatty. I keep trying different techniques to call them back together, but it's like the respect for me is just not there. Today I made them do a transition over again and by the second time they could tell that I meant business. I need to do this more!
Oh and I made a girl cry during social studies. And I didn't feel bad at all =) muahahaha!
